Dental Insurance
Vanderbilt offers two voluntary dental plans:
CIGNA Dental Care
This dental HMO-type of plan features coverage based on copayments with no deductibles or waiting periods. A dentist must be selected from the CIGNA Dental Care Provider Network. You may obtain this list from the CIGNA Web site (www.cigna.com) or contact CIGNA Dental Care Customer Service toll-free by calling 800.367.1037.
Members enrolled in the CIGNA Dental Care plan with covered dependents under age 7 can select a network pediatric dentist as their child’s primary care dentist, without needing a referral from the parent’s general dentist.
CIGNA Dental PPO
This is a traditional dental plan with a $50 individual deductible, and a $1,500 annual maximum. You can select any dental provider, however if you visit a dentist who is part of the CIGNA Dental PPO Provider Network you will receive an extra discount. A list of CIGNA Dental PPO Providers can be obtained from the CIGNA Web site (www.cigna.com) or by contacting CIGNA Dental PPO Customer Service toll-free by calling 888.DENTAL8 (888.336.8258).
