Vanderbilt Retirement Plan — Staff Eligibility
As a staff member, you are eligible to tax-defer a portion of your salary in the Supplemental Vanderbilt Retirement Plan immediately. You will be automatically enrolled upon completion of 12 months of service and meeting the 1,000-hour requirement.
Mandatory
The required contribution is 3% and Vanderbilt will match 3% dollar-for-dollar.
Basic
You may also choose to contribute an additional 2% that Vanderbilt will match dollar-for-dollar.
Supplemental
You may contribute up to IRS limits. Contributions are 100% immediately vested.
*You can join the Supplemental level immediately upon employment and tax-defer salary before you're eligible to receive matching Vanderbilt University contributions.
