Referral Bonus Programs

Vanderbilt is positioning for the future and created the Referral Bonus Program to meet the demand for experienced employees in the following roles.

VCH Environmental Services Referral Program

Vanderbilt will pay $100 to an employee who successfully refers a full time or part-time candidate to the VCH Environmental Services Department. The program runs from Jan. 15 - June 30, 2016.

How to Make a Referral

Ask the potential candidate to go to the Work at Vanderbilt website and complete an online application. Make sure the potential candidate includes your name, as listed in People Finder, as the referral source. Make a successful referral and you'll get:

  • $50 after the new hire has been employed 90 days
  • $50 at the end of an additional 90 days of the new employee period (180 days from hire date).

Details and Eligibility Guidelines

  • The candidate must include the name of the referring Vanderbilt employee on his or her Work at Vanderbilt website application.
  • The initial date the candidate submits his or her application to the Work at Vanderbilt website must be Jan. 15 - June 30, 2016. Applications or resumes submitted before or after these dates are not eligible for the bonus.
  • If the prospective new employee previously worked for Vanderbilt, the break in service must be 6 months or longer.
  • The bonus will only be paid to Vanderbilt staff-level employees. Managers (or above) are not eligible for the bonus.
  • Vanderbilt Human Resources employees are not eligible for the bonus.

VUMC Pharmacy Referral Program

Vanderbilt will pay $1,000 to an employee who successfully refers a Certified Pharmacy Technician to the VUH, VMG, MSS, or VCH pharmacies. The program runs from Dec. 9, 2015 through March 31, 2016.

How to Make a Referral

Ask the Certified Pharmacy Technician to go to the Work at Vanderbilt website and complete an online application. Make sure the potential candidate includes your name, as listed in People Finder, as the referral source. Make a successful referral and you'll get:

  • $500 after the Certified Pharmacy Technician has been employed 90 days
  • $500 after the Certified Pharmacy Technician has worked at Vanderbilt for a full year

Details and Eligibility Guidelines

  • The Certified Pharmacy Technician must include the name of the referring Vanderbilt employee on his or her Work at Vanderbilt website application.
  • The initial date the candidate submits his or her application to the Work at Vanderbilt website must be Dec. 9, 2015 - March 31, 2016. Applications or resumes submitted before or after these dates are not eligible for the bonus.
  • You can refer former Certified Pharmacy Technicians, except those employed with Vanderbilt after Jan. 1, 2015.
  • The bonus will only be paid to Vanderbilt staff-level employees. Managers (or above) are not eligible for the bonus.
  • Pharmacy Technician Coordinators, Pharmacy Supervisors and Managers (or above) are not eligible for the bonus.
  • Vanderbilt Human Resources employees are not eligible for the bonus.

Vanderbilt will pay $2,500 to an employee who successfully refers a full-time nurse with a BSN degree and at least one year of experience. The program runs from Sept. 2, 2015 through March 31, 2016.

How to Make a Referral

Ask the BSN to go to the Work at Vanderbilt website and complete an online application. Make sure the BSN includes your name, as listed in People Finder, as the referral source. Make a successful referral and you’ll get:

  • $1,250 after the BSN has been employed 90 days
  • $1,250 after the BSN has worked at Vanderbilt for a full year

Details and Eligibility Guidelines

  • The candidate must include the name of the referring Vanderbilt employee on his or her Work at Vanderbilt website application.
  • The initial date the candidate submits his or her application to the Work at Vanderbilt website must be Sept. 2, 2015 - March 31, 2016. Applications or resumes submitted before or after these dates are not eligible for the bonus.
  • The purpose of this program is to generate "new" candidates, so only applications, profiles or resumes entered for the first time during this time period are eligible.
  • You can refer former BSNs, except those employed with Vanderbilt after Jan. 1, 2014.
  • The bonus will only be paid to Vanderbilt staff-level employees. Managers (or above) are not eligible for the bonus.
  • Vanderbilt Human Resources employees are not eligible for the bonus.

Diagnostic Referral Bonus Program

Vanderbilt will pay $1,500 to an employee who successfully refers a full-time diagnostic laboratory professional for any of the positions listed below. The program runs from March 1, 2015 through June 30, 2016.

  • Cytogenetic Technologist
  • Histotechnician
  • Histotechnologist
  • Medical Laboratory Scientist
  • Medical Lab Technician
  • Pathology Technician

How to Make a Referral

Ask the diagnostic lab professional to go to the Work at Vanderbilt website and complete an online application. Make sure the diagnostic lab professional includes your name, as listed in People Finder, as the referral source. Make a successful referral and you’ll get:

  • $750 after the diagnostic lab professional has been employed 90 days
  • $750 after the diagnostic lab professional has worked at Vanderbilt for a full year

Details and Eligibility Guidelines

  • The candidate must include the name of the referring Vanderbilt employee on his or her Work at Vanderbilt website application.
  • The initial date the candidate submits his or her application to the Work at Vanderbilt website must be March 1, 2015 - June 30, 2016. Applications or resumes submitted before or after these dates are not eligible for the bonus.
  • The purpose of this program is to generate "new" candidates, so only applications, profiles or resumes entered for the first time during this time period are eligible.
  • You can refer former diagnostic lab professionals, except those employed with Vanderbilt after Jan. 1, 2013.

Coder Referral Bonus Program

Vanderbilt will pay $1,500 to an employee who successfully refers a full-time coder with these qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited discipline specific program
  • Licensure, certification and/or registration: Records Health Info Admin, Records Health Info Tech, Certified Coding Specialist, Certified Procedural Coder, Certified Coding Specialist-Physician, Certified Coding Specialist - Hospital (for Coding Specialist I and II positions)

The program runs from March 18, 2015 through June 30, 2016.

How to Make a Referral

Ask the coder to go to the Work at Vanderbilt website and complete an online application. Make sure the coder includes your name, as listed in People Finder, as the referral source. Make a successful referral and you’ll get:

  • $750 after the coder has been employed 90 days
  • $750 after the coder has worked at Vanderbilt for a full year

Details and Eligibility Guidelines

  • The candidate must include the name of the referring Vanderbilt employee on his or her Work at Vanderbilt website application.
