Making Changes to Short-Term Disability Coverage

Last Modified: 2016-08-17

Enhanced Short-Term Disability

You may opt out of the buy-up coverage of the enhanced short-term disability plan at any time. If you wish to re-enroll in the buy-up coverage at another time, you will be subject to medical review and you could be denied.

Traditional Short-Term Disability

Changes to the traditional short-term disability plan can only be made during the annual Open Enrollment period. If you would like to drop your short-term disability coverage or change options, please refer to the Open Enrollment materials for instructions.

Newly eligible staff enrolled in the traditional short-term disability plan during the waiting period for enhanced short-term disability will transition automatically from traditional to enhanced (base and buy-up coverage) when they become eligible. See Enhanced Short-Term Disability for more details.
