Athletics

Biography

Dawnyell serves as Tutoring Director for the department.  Additionally, she serves on the University Diversity Council and is an active member of the Learning Concerns Enhancement Committee of the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals.

Prior to working at Vanderbilt, Dawnyell worked in various Athletic Academic Support positions at the University of Memphis, NC State University, and the University of South Carolina.

Dawnyell earned her Bachelor degree in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas, where she was a member of the track and field team, receiving All-American honors.  She then went on to the University of Memphis to earn a Master degree in Sport and Leisure Commerce.  Currently, she is working to complete her Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from Tennessee State University.

Outside of Vanderbilt, Dawnyell is involved in organizations including Nashville Organized for Action and Hope and the North Nashville Organization for Community Improvement.
