Biography

As Vanderbilt University’s Director of Finance for VUIT, Heather Slagell is responsible for supporting and stewarding a unified financial vision for information technology across all Vanderbilt academic and administrative groups.

Prior to joining Vanderbilt, Heather was the Assistant Vice President of Enterprise IT Service and Operations for Louisiana State University. In this role she managed business operations for LSU Information Technology Services, which enables the IT resources to LSU students, staff, and faculty at the Baton Rouge campus.

Slagell’s background uniquely combines experiences in the private sector and higher education – in finance, budgeting, technology, operation management, and human resources roles.

She received a B.A. from Augustana College, Rock Island, IL and an M.B.A. from Illinois State University.  She lives North of Nashville with her life partner, Tony.
