Pam Jones
Dr. Jones provides strategic leadership for Vanderbilt University’s efforts to promote health, wellbeing and a sense of belonging for faculty, staff and post-docs. She and her team are responsible for implementing and supporting wholistic programs focusing on physical health, mental health and community building. She works very closely with the University Staff Advisory Council to ensure that Vanderbilt efforts in this area are aligned with the needs of our staff. She also serves as a subject matter expert on health to the Dean of Students related to student health.
Dr. Jones is an experienced nurse executive with over 40 years of progressive leadership experience including the roles of Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Executive Officer and Senior Associate Dean. She served as the Co-Commander of the Public Health Central Command Center during COVID. She has extensive leadership experience in a variety of health care and academic settings. Her experience across the healthcare continuum contributes to a clear understanding of the future care process and models required to promote health and wellbeing. At Vanderbilt University School of Nursing, Dr. Jones teaches and mentors in the Doctor of Nursing practice program.
