New Faculty Benefits Orientation
This benefits orientation provides an overview of benefits available at Vanderbilt for new university faculty. Your hiring department should explain information on leaves of absence, moving expenses and other benefits including vacation, personal and sick leave. You may also refer to the Faculty Manual for more information.
To attend one of the sessions below, please complete the registration form (seating is limited). You will receive an email confirming your reservation.
All sessions are held at the Baker Building, 110 21st Avenue South. Parking is available in the designated two-hour visitor parking on the 2nd floor of the attached garage.
If you have a faculty appointment, but have not yet begun work at Vanderbilt, you may still attend a New Faculty Benefits Orientation. That is, you do not have to wait until after your appointment date to request to attend one of the sessions.
If you are changing from a benefits-eligible staff or house staff position to a faculty position at Vanderbilt, the benefits you are enrolled in will continue. A change in position does not enable you to make changes to your benefits elections; therefore you do not need to attend the benefits orientation. Please refer to the Faculty Manual for more information.
Benefits Orientation Sessions
Faculty may attend the benefits portion of New Staff Orientation during weeks or months when no Faculty Orientation is scheduled.

- Wed, Aug. 9, 11 a.m. - 12 p.m.
- Wed, Aug 16, 2 - 3 p.m.
- Wed, Aug 23, 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. - CLOSED
- Wed, Aug 30, 2 - 3 p.m.
- Wed, Sept 13, 10 - 11 a.m.
These sessions will be in the Large Conference Room - 10th Floor of the Baker Building.
