Biography

Margaret Emley is the Director of Real Estate at Vanderbilt University (VURE). She's been working at her alma mater since 2016, both in the Assistant Director and Director roles. Margaret directs management and leasing of the university's perimeter and auxiliary properties, consisting of approximately one million gross square feet of commercial and multifamily facilities, the Vanderbilt Legends Club golf course, and a recently acquired hotel. VURE also oversees the university's 420,000 gross square feet of tenant leases. VURE handles all of the university's acquisitions and dispositions, with a total transaction volume of approximately $225 million since 2016. As part of Vanderbilt's FutureVU land use plan, Margaret and the VURE team successfully led Vanderbilt's first public-private partnership to develop 600 beds of graduate and professional student housing with ground floor retail and student collaboration space.

Prior to joining Vanderbilt, Margaret worked for RCLCO, a real estate advisory firm where she provided market-driven and analytically sound real estate solutions to private developers and public institutions. Margaret is a graduate of Vanderbilt University with a degree in Human and Organizational Development and Psychology.
