Valenz Bluebook - Price Transparency Tool

Formerly known as Healthcare Bluebook, Valenz Bluebook is an online price comparison tool for health care services, such as imaging, elective surgeries and more. The tool ranks providers in a given geographical area in terms of quality and affordability. Healthcare Bluebook allows you to shop for procedures, compare facilities and their pricing, and find the best quality for medical services, all while saving money.

Did you know that in-network prices for the same procedure can vary by over 500% depending on the facility you choose?

Valenz Bluebook’s web and mobile application make it easy to save money on hundreds of common medical services and procedures by showing you the cost ranges in your area and providing you with a selection of Fair Price™ (green) facilities.

Valenz Bluebook also provides detailed information on the quality of common inpatient procedures to help you to easily identify and select a facility that has a high-quality rating.

How does Valenz Bluebook work?

Valenxz Bluebook’s web and mobile application show you the cost of hundreds of common medical services and procedures and provide you with a selection of “Fair Price” facilities. The Fair Price is the amount you should reasonably expect to pay for a service or procedure and reflects the discounts that the health plan has negotiated with a facility. You then choose the provider that is best for you.

New for 2026!

Engagement Rewards

Beginning on January 1, 2026, employees and their covered dependents enrolled in the Choice CDHP or Select PPO medical options will be eligible to participate in the Valenz Bluebook Engagement Rewards program. This program allows you to earn cash rewards for select services like colonoscopies, stress tests, MRIs, infusions, and many more, simply by making informed healthcare choices. Rewards range from $50 to $1,500.

Here’s how to qualify: 

1. First, visit Vālenz Bluebook prior to scheduling your healthcare service. You can do this by:
   • Logging in to the Vālenz Bluebook website or mobile app using mobile code: VU. Services included in the program will be noted as Rewards Eligible.   
   • Calling Member Services at 800-341-0504
   • Logging in and selecting “Contact Us” to connect with Member Services
2. Choose a Fair Price™ (green-rated) facility.
   • For outpatient services, select a facility with a green price ranking to earn a reward.
   • For inpatient services, use a facility with both a green quality ranking and a green price ranking to receive the maximum reward. Alternatively, choosing a facility with a green quality ranking and a yellow price ranking qualifies you for a smaller reward. 

After your service has been performed and Aetna has processed the claim, Valenz Bluebook will confirm that your service qualifies and mail a debit card preloaded with your cash reward directly to your home address on file. You don’t need to do anything to claim your reward!
