Biography
As a Director in Campus Dining, Steve oversees Vanderbilt Catering & Events as well as the Commissary and Concessions divisions. Vanderbilt Catering & Events provides services for over 1,500 annual events including Strawberries and Champagne, Student Move-In Events, and Board of Trust meetings. The commissary division provides grab and go meals for markets and quick-serve locations across campus producing more than 15,000 menu items weekly. The Concessions division provides food and beverage offerings at all home football, baseball, basketball, and soccer games.
Originally from Knoxville, TN, Steve received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee -Knoxville and remained in the middle Tennessee area opening and managing restaurants for a local hospitality group. He moved to Hyde Park, New York to study culinary arts at the Culinary Institute of America and received an associate degree in Culinary Arts.
Steve returned to Tennessee and worked as a chef for Gaylord Opryland and the Renaissance Nashville before joining Vanderbilt in 2017 as the Executive Catering Chef. Steve draws inspiration from the excitement and memories associated with great hospitality and takes pride in sharing that vision in his role here at Vanderbilt. Steve enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and enjoying live music at one of Nashville’s amazing music venues when he is away from Vanderbilt.
