2023 Staff Experience Survey

The Staff Experience Survey is a way for the university to understand how staff view working at Vanderbilt and is part of the ongoing Future of Work initiative. The survey will give staff the opportunity to share feedback on their experience as a staff member at Vanderbilt University. The confidential web-based survey consists of approximately 60 questions and should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete.  

An analysis of findings will be shared after the survey closes. Results will be used to create action plans to share best practices and address areas of concern. The university intends to repeat this survey regularly to track progress and change over time.

Who is eligible to take the survey?  

All part-time and full-time benefits-eligible staff members who are not members of the union are invited to take the Staff Experience Survey. Faculty are not included in this survey.   

How do I take the survey?  

Eligible staff employees are invited to take the survey by clicking the personalized link in their invitation email.   

How will the survey be administered?  

The survey will be administered online by a third-party vendor, Answer Key.   

Who will have access to the results/data?  

The university will only receive the anonymized results, which will only be shared in the aggregate.  

How will data be used?

Why should I complete the survey?  

Completing the Staff Experience Survey will give the university a better insight into how staff view Vanderbilt as an employer. This will allow us to continue best practices and address areas of concern. In addition, you will be entered into a drawing for the opportunity to win a $100 gift card.
