Birth/Adoption/Legal Guardianship
The addition of a new dependent child due to birth/adoption/legal guardianship is considered to be a qualifying event, which allows you to declare a Family Status Change and make changes to your benefits during the plan year. Changes must be made within 30 days of the birth/adoption/legal guardianship and consistent with and as a result of the addition of the child. If you have questions, please contact People Experience.

Health and/or Dental Coverage
Changes must be made within 30 days of the birth/adoption/legal guardianship.
- You must declare a Life Change within 30 days of the status change to add your dependent to your coverage. See Family Status Change for more information.
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)
Changes must be made within 30 days of the birth/adoption/legal guardianship.
- You may want to begin participating in a health care FSA or a dependent day care FSA, or increase the contributions to your existing FSA.

Changes should be made as soon as possible after the birth/adoption/legal guardianship.
