Frequently Asked Questions: Chancellor Declared Administrative Leave Day
Q: How do I know if I am an “essential employee” and required to report to work on a Chancellor declared administrative leave day?
A: Check in with your immediate supervisor regarding the requirements of your work and whether you are required to report to work on campus.
Q: How do I report my time for a Chancellor declared administrative leave day?
- A: Weekly & bi-weekly paid (non-exempt, hourly)
- Enter the hours you normally work and select “Paid Administrative Leave” for the day in UKG (Kronos)
- A: Monthly paid (exempt, salaried)
- No reporting is needed if taken the actual day off. If required to work, then report alternative day off as Holiday Worked — Exempt Staff
Q: If I am required to work on a Chancellor declared administrative leave day, will I get another day off?
A: At the discretion of your departmental leadership, you will receive another day off or you will be paid out for the administrative leave day. Please discuss this with your supervisor.
Q: What happens if a Chancellor Administrative Day falls on a day I am not scheduled to work?
A: Employees who are not regularly scheduled to work on a Chancellor administrative day will be provided an alternative day off. For example, if your regular work schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, and a Chancellor administrative day falls on a Monday, you will not lose that paid leave. Instead, you will be provided an alternate day off, either during the same week or as close to that week as possible. The scheduling of your alternate day off is at the discretion of your manager, based on what is administratively practicable.
