What are we doing?

We are undertaking a Staff Census to improve the accuracy and usefulness of the data we hold about staff demographics and contact information. This census is being implemented in Oracle Cloud. All staff members will be asked to look at and confirm the accuracy of key personal data, as well as to update their record with several new fields if they choose to share that information. No one will be required to change anything or share more than is currently in the system, but you will need to confirm the accuracy of the data we have at a minimum.

We are also implementing an anonymous survey to collect some demographic information about the Vanderbilt staff population that will help us to understand our diversity, but which we did not want to link to individuals’ staff records at this time. This survey asks about more granular race/ethnic categories, as well as sexual orientation and religious identity. You will also have the opportunity to opt-in to learn more about targeted EDI activities for different groups and their allies.
